A tee-rific team

The BCS Golf team is an option offered in the spring term and is open to students of all ages.

This year our Golf crease is 26 players large and the top five to seven qualifying players compete in tournaments against other schools. These select players are those who are keen to work hard and improve their game throughout the season. Students practice and play matches just minutes away at the Old Lennoxville Golf Club, the oldest nine-hole golf course in Canada. Matches are played versus teams in the ETIAC at various golf courses in the Eastern Townships.

Here's what our coaches Mr. Madsen and Mr. Bray had to say upon their return from the first ETIAC tournament last week:

"It was a beautiful, warm day today as our golf team headed to Asbestos to play at the Royal Estrie golf course. We participated against Alexander Galt, Stanstead College, and Richmond Regional, and finished in third place. This is a team competition where the top three individual scores, from a maximum of six players, count toward the overall total. For today we actually finished only six shots out of first place, and four shots behind second place. As we still have three more tournaments, we are certainly very much in the mix for the overall league title. On an individual level, our low score for the day was an excellent plus 6 round of 78 by Gregor J., which was only one shot off from being the low round of the day. We are looking forward to more great golf from our players."

Well said, coaches—we can't wait to see what's in store for our golfers this season and good luck to the whole team at tomorrow's tournament!
