Crack the Candy Code

During period 1 on Thursday, all Form II students participated in a library escape room organized by Ms. Harkness and Mr. Crowther.

In groups of three, each team explored the Peter G. Holt Memorial Library using books, our website, our online library catalogues/databases, posters, and signs to guide them. They discovered one clue after the next through riddles that led them to keys and passcodes to open a set of boxes. The goal? Teach students library orientation.

A prize incentive for the fastest team was announced at the beginning of the game. This led one student to pull a fast one by prying open a box to try to see the next clue, which they quickly realized wouldn't work! But, we don't blame them—we would also do anything for candy.

After 20 minutes, one team came out on top using their excellent teamwork skills and taking full advantage of the resources found online and around them to solve each riddle. Shortly afterwards, each team was able to crack the code. The team who solved the game the fastest was the Green Team—Asia L., Charles Antoine L., and Leïla C. They won the large candy prize, which they generously decided to share with everyone.
