With a ratio of 3:1, approximately 85% of our students are boarders.

At least 99% of our students go on to study at universities around the world.

Our residences close for students during the Winter Break in December and January, the March Break, and for the summer. However, the Admissions office, as well as other administrative offices, are open year-round.

Our campus is 250 acres, surrounded by mountains, rivers, and farmland. At any time we have approximately 280 students enrolled.

Our 250-acre campus includes two academic buildings with modern labs and classrooms, Ross Hall Dining Hall, the Peter G. Holt Memorial Library, the R.D.W. Howson Enrichment Centre, the Hartland Molson Hall Student Centre, the Frank W. Ross Infirmary, and eight student residences, as well as faculty & staff housing. 

BCS athletic facilities include an on-campus indoor hockey rink (Memorial Arena), two full-size basketball courts and a 40-foot climbing wall located in the H. Weir-Davis Memorial Gymnasium, three international squash courts, and the Hiles Family Fitness Centre. Outdoor facilities include five sports fields, three new tennis courts, an outdoor volleyball court, and several kilometres of wooded cross-country trails. A university swimming pool and the local golf course are within walking distance of BCS.

Yes, we offer English as a Second Language (ESL) for grades 7 to 10.

We have an infirmary on campus and a nurse is available 24/7. A doctor is on call for scheduled appointments. The nearest hospital is 15 minutes away by car in the case of a medical emergency. BCS also has a physiotherapist on staff.

1. Submit your application (online submission is recommended)
2. Send your supporting documents:
   1. Report cards/transcripts for the previous two year (If applying for grade 12, grade 9 report cards/transcripts are also required.)
   2. Birth Certificate
   3. Copy of your passport
   4. Two (2) passport-size photos
   5. Completed confidential report
   6. Application fee ($200 for international applicants, $200 for Canadian applicants) payable by cheque or credit card

  3. Complete Math and English Worksheets on campus or coordinated with current school
  4. Interview with student (on campus or via Skype)

Once the above steps are completed, the file will be reviewed and assessed and an admission decision will be made.

BCS uses rolling admissions, which means students can apply any time and applications are continuously assessed. We do, however, recommend applying prior to February 1 for admission the following September.

Once all the required documents have been received, and an interview and worksheets are completed, a decision is usually made within two weeks.

No preparation is needed for either. The Math and English Worksheets are written in order to assess the student’s current knowledge, while the interview helps our team get to know the student better.

No; if you have completed the TOEFL test, however, you may provide the results and we will add them to your file.

No; if you have completed the SSAT, however, you may provide the results and we will add them to your file.

Yes; students who are interested in writing the SAT have the opportunity to participate in one-week intensive SAT prep courses that are offered in the fall and the spring.

Once the student has been admitted to BCS, the process to obtain a study permit may be started.

The Canadian permit can be obtained by contacting your nearest Canadian Embassy, Consulate, or High Commission.

For the required provincial (Quebec) documents, a BCS staff member will help guide families through the process.

We are open for visits year-round and can personalize the experience according to your needs. To follow the recommendations put forth by our health authorities and government, all visitors to campus will need to abide by the BCS Health & Safety Protocol for Visitors to Campus.

If you are unable to come for an in-person tour please contact our Admissions Team, who will be happy to offer alternative ways to learn about our campus, or check out our virtual visit options.

A campus visit, including a tour and interview, will take approximately two hours. Additional time (approximately another two hours) will be needed if worksheets are also completed during the visit.

Yes, and it is available for all grade/form levels. To apply for assistance, the family must complete the confidential application form through Apple Financial Services. The Parent's Financial Statement and the FACS (Financial Aid for Canadian Students) needs analysis are reviewed by the BCS Financial Awards Committee. The financial assistance process must be completed annually in order to assess each family’s current need.

Yes. A wide range of scholarships are available, thanks to the generosity of many alumni and friends of BCS. For more, please see Tuition and Financial Assistance.

Tuition covers all of the educational services and activities related to a BCS education.

Families can anticipate additional costs for uniform, activities (that do not fall within the educational services), purchases through the supply shop, and health insurance (for international students).
