Bishop's College School has been contributing to a better world since 1836, fostering academic excellence, strength of character, leadership, and a strong sense of community throughout generations of BCS and KHC families.
The school’s management and operations teams are led by Mr. Michel Lafrance, Head of School, and are overseen by the Association Board of Directors of Bishop’s College School under the stewardship of Mr. Guthrie Stewart, BCS'73, the current Chair. The school’s endowment funds and assets are held by the Bishop’s College School Foundation; the current Chair of the Foundation Board is Ms. Jennifer Winsor, BCS'83. Both entities are incorporated and are tax-exempt, registered charitable organizations under the Income Tax Act in Canada.
The Boards are entrusted with the fiduciary responsibility of oversight of the affairs of the school and the stewardship of its assets. Directors and trustees have a duty to make decisions and implement policies in the best interests of the school and are bound by a Board Code of Conduct.
My experience at BCS continues to shape me, as a professional and as a person, well beyond my years on Moulton Hill.
Ian Graham, BCS'80
Association Board of Directors
Our Association Board of Directors is dedicated to the successful governance and sustenance of Bishop’s College School. They generously give their time and expertise to serve our school, supporting us in achieving our mission, pursuing our vision, and upholding our core values.
The Association Board of Directors consists of up to 14 voluntary members. Directors are elected at the Annual General Meeting in October, usually for two-year renewable terms. They meet several times a year, are engaged in several Standing Committees, and attend the school’s main events. The current Chair of the Association Board is Guthrie Stewart, BCS'73.
