Experiential Learning

Experiential education engages students in a cycle of direct experience, analysis, and experimentation. Experiential education values a personal connection to deep and applied learning, and inspires growth in both the student and teacher.

Experiential education enhances student motivation through active hands-on engagement that is relevant to the student, personally challenging and self-guided, includes a vision of responsibility for one’s self and others, and provides opportunities for reflection on what is learned.

These opportunities include inquiry and hands-on classroom projects, outdoor and adventure training, global education and travel, community engagement, environmental sustainability initiatives, leadership development, student focus group committees and the promotion of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. Experiential Learning is at the heart of the holistic education we provide to our students.
