One-on-One University Guidance

Our University Advising team is eager to assist students in choosing a college or university that matches their interests, abilities, and career aspirations. Students also have access to teachers, tutors, and advisors for guidance and encouragement throughout the application process. In recent years, our graduates have been offered admission to many top universities in Canada and the rest of the world, including McGill, University of Toronto, Waterloo, University of Pennsylvania, and the London School of Economics.

Access to University Courses & Credits

Grade 12 students in high academic standing have a unique opportunity to further excel through our Bridge Program with neighbouring Bishop's University. Eligible students can enroll in a first-year university course of their choice, giving them exposure to lecture-based instruction and advanced curriculum. Students receive university credit for successfully completing courses, helping to accelerate their post-secondary studies and catch the eye of university admissions offices.

A Window into the World

BCS students have the privilege of studying alongside classmates from all around the world. Living and learning in such a multicultural milieu teaches students to embrace diversity and helps prepare them for a challenging university career. BCS provides a solid educational foundation while simultaneously nurturing relationships that span the globe and last a lifetime.

A Network of Support

Students benefit from an additional year in our structured environment with small class sizes, faculty advisor meetings and a strong network of support. Learning strategists at the R.D.W. Howson Enrichment Centre help students develop confidence, set goals, manage their time, rank their priorities and find strategies to help them succeed in university. Help is also available in preparing students for their SAT test and Advance Placement tests.

A Tailored Education

With an average class size of only 15 students, the teaching and learning environment at BCS is distinctly different from those typically found at other post-secondary institutions. Grade 12 students thrive in this intimate atmosphere, actively participating in class discussions, debates and other cross-curricular projects and sports. Teachers make a point of getting to know their students in order to offer the best possible educational experience. Students choose 7 different classes of which only English is mandatory thus tailoring their program to the required courses for their future application to university.

Bishop's College School is an independent English-language boarding and day school for grades 7 to 12 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.
