Catching Up With... Anne Belton, KHC'63
Anne Belton, KHC'63, was recently presented with a Foundation of European Nurses in Diabetes (FEND) 25th Anniversary Recognition Award on the occasion of World Diabetes Day.
Anne began working with people with diabetes in 1983, establishing a Diabetes Education Centre in Brampton, Ontario shortly thereafter in 1991. She became Chair of the Educator Section of the Canadian Diabetes Association and was one of the first members of the Diabetes Educator Certification Development Team.
She was also a member of the Diabetes Education Consultative Section of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and co-authored two books, Diabetes in Adults and The How to of Patient Education.
