The passion and life's work of The Honourable Landon "Lucy" (Mackenzie) Pearson, KHC'46, is the subject of a new feature publication: The Children's Senator: Landon Pearson and a Lifetime of Advocacy.

The new edited collection is compiled by Professor Virginia Caputo, Director of the Landon Pearson Centre for the Study of Childhood and Children's Rights. Its contributors detail Pearson's influence on children's rights scholarship, research, and advocacy in a variety of areas including indigenous children's rights, youth justice, commercial sexual exploitation of children, children's mental health, and corporal punishment.

The publication celebrates Pearson as a catalyst of change both in Canada and internationally, with her efforts informing a legacy that has laid a foundation for children's rights into the 21st century.
