Athletics at BCS
Athletics are an integral part of daily life at BCS, with students participating in either team or individual sports at least five times a week. We call after-school sports ‘crease.’ All students participate in three creases per year: fall, winter, and spring. We have a wide range of options and levels for students who seek the thrill of competition, as well as those who wish to experience a sport for the first time.
With more than 20 different sports to choose from, there is something for everyone at BCS – and we’re always expanding! Both the volleyball and lacrosse creases were brought back by student-led initiatives in recent years.
BCS Athletic facilities include an on-campus indoor hockey rink, two full-size basketball courts, a 40-foot climbing wall, three international squash courts, and a fitness centre. Outdoor facilities include five sports fields, a newly-renovated tennis court complex, and several kilometres of wooded cross-country trails. A university swimming pool, and the local curling club and golf course are all within walking distance of BCS.
