The BCS Cross-Country Running Team is made up of boys and girls ranging in age from 11 - 13 (Bantam), 14 - 15 (Junior) and 16+ (Senior).  The team competes locally in five races, with the finals hosted here on our home turf.
The months of September and October are dedicated to building our runners' skills, knowledge, endurance, and self-awareness with regards to long distance running through a variety of techniques, drills, stretches, warm up exercises, challenging routes and cool down routines.
Each race pits the athlete against his/her peers, while also competing against their own best times.  All of this culminates in the final race, held on our course - "The Gauntlet" – a plurality of nature trails that stretch and etch their way through the BCS woods and campus. It’s a test of spirit and a connection with nature, as every great cross-country run should be!
There is also time to incorporate yoga, interval training, "desertion" runs, a field trip and the annual "Zombie Run" to ensure that every runner's experience is enjoyable and well-rounded.
