The BCS Swim Team is a competitive team, open to swimmers of all levels. Students train three times a week at Bishop’s University pool and have two dry-land training sessions per week in the BCS weight room. Practices are determined by the quantity and performance level of the swimmers. A top swimmer can expect to put in a few kilometres per practice. The program teaches the following strokes: breast stroke, free style, back stroke, and butterfly.
Swimming is more than just having fun in the water! All swimmers will compete in 4 ETIAC swim meets, with the most advanced swimmers also competing in 4-5 RSEQ meets. In 2015 and 2016, several of our elite swimmers represented the Eastern Townships Swim Team at the provincial swim competition.
