Winter Adventure Training is offered to students in Form IV and up. Students enrolled in this activity require no prior experience. Coaches ask for enthusiasm, a willingness to try something new, a positive attitude, and a desire to learn.
During the winter term, students will learn and practice outdoor skills such as snowshoeing and skiing, building fires, outdoor cooking, survival skills, first aid, and winter safety.
Students will be required to organise a three-night winter camping expedition in the latter half of the winter. This trip is organised by the students themselves, who take charge of meal planning, activity scheduling, and equipment organization. This expedition often takes place at Mont Orford or Mont Mégantic. Students will also spend one night on the BCS campus in a shelter they construct themselves.
Rookie of the Year The Coaches' Award Awarded for commitment, sportsman-like conduct, patience, and ability to share their experience with others.
