
161st Annual Review
The BCS No. 2 Cadet Corps made us proud today as we hosted our 161st Annual Cadet Review in front of family, friends, alumni, and distinguished guests. We were proud to welcome Lieutenant-Colonel Montgomery Price, BCS’92, as our Reviewing Officer.
A major shout out to Major Patrice Daoust, CD (Commanding Officer), Capt Patrice Breton, CD (Deputy Commanding Officer & Training Officer), Capt Patrick Dubé, Cl Barbara Rowell, Georgia Barratt-Lamey (Quarter Masters), Cl Sheila Lyster (Administration Officer), Cl James Benson (Band Master), Lcol (Ret.) Ernest Garbutt, CD and CWO (Ret.) Guy Hamel, CD (Parade Coordinators), and our Instructors Capt Pascal Morcet, CD, Lt (N) Maryann Proulx-Beaudoin, Géraldine Lemonde, and Melissa Rowe, without whom this event would not happen.
Thank you also to all faculty and staff for your support and organization. Lastly, a huge congratulations to our entire corps on a job well done! As Cadet Commanding Officer Sky Willer said, you should all be extremely proud of your hard work.

-The B.W. Regimental Cadet Award to commemorate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, and her long association with The Black Watch Regiment as its Colonel-in-Chief. Known as the Queen Mother’s Award, it is awarded in recognition to one exceptional member of the Corps.

-The Hugh Ross Cleveland Medal awarded to the cadet displaying the most officer-like qualities.

-The Royal Canadian Legion Medal of Excellence awarded by the Royal Canadian Legion to the Cadet who has demonstrated a sense out outstanding citizenship and for implication in the life of the community. The medal is awarded to recognize that effort and to enhance the aims and objectives of the cadet program.

-The Strathcona Trust Medal The Strathcona Foundation was created in 1909. Lord Strathcona, High Commissioner for Canada in London at the time, was interested in improving physical conditioning and developing intellectual activity by encouraging self-discipline, citizenship, and patriotism among the youth to that end. He established the Foundation bearing his name. In 1923, the organization had a medal struck to be presented to the most meritorious cadet in each corps and squadron. The medal is the highest distinction that a cadet can earn for distinguishing himself among his peers and contributing personally to his community.
