A crisp autumn day

Yesterday our community participated in Take Me Outside Day—an annual event held across Canada in October to “raise awareness about the importance of outdoor learning and to encourage students to spend more time outside.”

Teachers and students gathered in the Quad for a special outdoor chapel to start the day. After the usual round of important announcements (and birthday shout-outs!) Mr. Brandon graced us with his musical and vocal skills via a few songs. Throughout the day, teachers took their classes outdoors to take advantage of our beautiful BCS campus. Ms. Rowell and her Physics class sat next to the fire pit to study theory. Mme. Deschenes created an activity for students to discover nature while practising their français. Form III students broke out into groups in the Quad to read poems for Mrs. Craig's English class. Mr. Verheyden and his Form V Science and Technology class learned about electrolytes with a basketball activity. Our Library staff, Mr. Crowther and Ms. Harkness, even set up a mini outdoor library!

Thank you to Ms. Rowell for bringing Take Me Outside Day to BCS and to all the teachers and staff who participated in the event!
