All around the world

Throughout the year, we have been lucky to hear about our students' home countries while we attend chapel.

This morning, Yasmin, Form VII, presented on the Dominican Republic. She showed us the beautiful traditional dance and music of her country—merengue. Students are encouraged to share information such as culture, language, food, and known figures from their home country. The presentations kicked off in November with friends Simon R., Form VII, and Simon M., Form VI, from the Czech Republic, followed by Shelby in Form IV presenting on Kenya. Lynn Paola, Form VI, recently presented about Cameroon. You can see a few of her photos from her home country displayed in the School House hallway. In the next few weeks, our students will be hearing about Japan and Columbia—stay tuned! Students can see Ms. Simard if they are interested in presenting. Mr. Lafrance also encourages students to share photos from their home country to be displayed in the Student Centre.

Our community of students from all around the world is what makes us who we are. As our mission statement declares, Bishop’s College School creates a caring community of learning and development where cultures connect and individuals matter.
