As easy as pie
The prefects and Associate Head of School for Student Life, Mr. Tessier, endured an evening of pies thrown at their faces for a good cause earlier this week.
A few weeks ago, prefect Max made the announcement about a pie-throwing competition to raise funds and jokingly promoted it as a way to "get back at the prefects and Mr. Tessier for always telling students what to do and how to act." For the low cost of $10 for three pies for prefects and $20 for three pies for Mr. Tessier, everyone was encouraged to buy and aim a pie (shaving cream-filled plates) at one of our 10 volunteers.
On Tuesday evening of this week, the prefects and Mr. Tessier graciously stepped up to the plate. "I recall one student buying nine pies, one for each prefect. I'm not exactly sure what we did to him, but it was funny nonetheless," joked prefect Kaitlyn. "The event was extremely successful. It was great to see such a big crowd for a good cause and everybody having fun." When asked how many pies were thrown at him, Mr. Tessier responded: "In my face... I lost count."
Thanks to the generosity of our students and the bravery of our targets, a total of $280 was raised for the Canadian Cancer Society.
