Baking for a cause

The Positive Change Committee (PCC) raised funds with a bake sale today to supply better chemotherapy chairs for the CIUSSS de l'Estrie - CHUS—all thanks to an initiative started by our Building Attendant, Mr. Adam Rowell.

“Chemotherapy can be a painful and stressful process, so supplying new comfortable chairs for patients is a small thing that makes a huge difference,” shared Emma A., member of the PCC. “So, remember to bring some change on Tuesday to join us in helping make chemotherapy patients' day a little better!” The PCC announced their bake sale fundraising idea to the community last week and a large group of faculty and staff jumped on the cause and volunteered to bake some sweet treats for today. After the sale, the total was close to $800—WOW! It was great to see students, faculty, and staff supporting the initiative and enjoying homemade goodies made with love.

On Thursday, everyone is encouraged to dress down (with a $2 minimum donation) and all proceeds will be added to the cause.
