Be upstanding
Mr. St-Amant's Form VII Law class re-created a real-life trial case today.
Justice St-Amant, court clerk Chloë, the lawyers, the witnesses, and the jury, reenacted the case of R. v. Wai. This case dealt with the charges of drug trafficking and possession. Students had to carry out the official court proceeding and convince the jury of their stories. More information about the court case that was chosen can be found here.
Mr. St-Amant assigns his Law class a case to execute each year, as he believes the trials are a valuable opportunity to encourage students to recognize criminal acts in a more lighthearted context.
