Best in snow

The nine mounds of snow on Centre Field slowly became a gallery of Greek inspired works of art this weekend.

This year, the Winter Carnival Committee brought back the old Carnival tradition of snow sculpting and it proved to be one of the most popular events of the weekend. The artists started carving away at the eight-foot snow mounds Friday afternoon and had to finish their sculptures in time for the judges on Saturday afternoon. Everyone had a blast creating the masterpieces, including the adults. "It was the highlight of my 24 years as a houseparent" Mr. Jeff Bray shared.

The sculptures were graded on three separate criteria: creativity, originality, and presentation. Winners of the contest will be announced at the closing ceremony this Thursday. Check out some of the masterpieces below and head to Instagram to see more photos from the event.
