Some lucky BCS students will have the chance to visit the Kenauk Institute once again this year.

The Executive Director of the institute is Liane Nowell, our second Scholar-in-Residence, who came to Moulton Hill in October 2021. Prior to 2020, both our Form II students and a select few senior school girls were lucky to embark on separate opportunities with the Kenauk Institute. As restrictions have continued to ease, we are excited to announce that these journeys will once again resume. Our Form II students are scheduled to travel to Kenauk on May 2-4 for a weekend class field trip. During the camp, students will have the chance to experience nature, some for the first time, and bond with one another and their teachers, as well as to gain a better understanding of some of the basics of ecology in Quebec.

In July, a couple of senior school girls with an interest and passion for Biological Science will have the opportunity to learn from Liane and her team of interns. This Junior Internship Program enables our senior students to shadow a Ph.D. or research student and Kenauk Intern.

We were lucky to be introduced to The Kenauk Institute through Doug Harpur, BCS'67, Chair of its Board of Directors. For the past three years, we have worked extensively with Liane through a series of projects as part of our partnership. Students or parents interested in learning more about these trips can contact our Director of Academics, Ms. Marie-France Labelle.
