The past few days were filled with three amazing keynote speakers, four eye-opening workshops, and innovative school spirit presentations. We also stopped at a sugar shack, had an indigenous salmon bake—thank you, Condo family—and held a dance to wrap up the event with style. We can confidently say that the 2024 CAIS Senior School Student Leaderships Conference was a success!

“There are many important lessons that we can learn from our experience at this year’s conference,” shared Victoria H., Chairman of the conference, in her closing address. “As Stephan said during his keynote, we must push ourselves as student leaders to not be afraid of taking a leap of faith or worrying about what others will think of us. We must be confident in our beliefs and not be afraid to say them out loud. From Dianna we learned that great leaders are never alone, they always have a support system. In Katie’s talk, […] we learned that as leaders we must reflect on our experiences to understand why we lead and that we have to embrace the type of leaders that we are.”

Congratulations goes to the Organizing Committee for having planned and executed such a grand event. Thank you to all the pod leaders for being reliable guides for the delegates from participating schools, and to Ms. Lowry and Mr. Merritt for leading the entire process.
