Crafting history
Form II students have been learning about Ancient Egypt and “specifically how the Egyptians made paper from papyrus plants,” explains Mr. White, History and Citizenship Education teacher. “Unfortunately it would take a small forest of papyrus plants for us to make paper in class so we cut paper bags into strips, dipped them in glue and then wove the strips together the same way the Egyptians would have. Once the paper has dried the students will write a message in hieroglyphics on them and their classmates will translate the messages.”
