Earth Day action
This Saturday marks Earth Day, a significant event that our advisory groups have eagerly embraced.
Students periodically meet with their assigned faculty or staff advisor in small groups to discuss a range of topics, including current events, social issues, academic challenges, and personal growth. Advisors ensure that students stay on track for success and communicate with parents regularly.
Today, the theme for advisors was ‘Invest in Our Planet.’ Each group looked at global and local environmental issues and discussed immediate actions they could take as a group or as individuals. Students in Mrs. Vanier and Ms. Rowell's classes took a quick walk around the Quad to clean up trash. Meanwhile, those in Ms. Lamb and Mrs. Sanchez McMillan's classes participated in a carbon footprint quiz to determine the number of planets needed to sustain their lifestyles. Try the quiz yourself!
Speaking of taking action…this Saturday is also the Stoker Arts Festival! Staff, faculty, students, and local artists will be leading artistic workshops and performing live. Stay tuned for more information.
