Every Child Matters

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

This afternoon we met at Bishop's University to march in unison with Lennoxville community members to remember and honour the victims of residential schools during the ‘Every Child Matters’ walk. Before walking, members of the community shared their stories about suffering from Indigenous suppression and attending residential schools. Many tears were shed but nothing compares to the sadness and hardships that Indigenous people face every day.

BCS—let's do our part to listen, learn, and take action—not only today but 365 days a year.

“Education got us into this mess and education will get us out of it.” -The Honourable Justice Murray Sinclair
