For what it's Earth...
Our community celebrated Earth Day today!
This morning, the Positive Change Committee presented on the history of Earth Day and gave tips on how to make small changes that can make a big difference, such as which items to correctly compost in Ross Dining Hall. Throughout the day, teachers and staff were encouraged to turn off the lights in classrooms and offices to conserve energy—including during this morning's chapel assembly. As Mulan reminded chapels go-ers, "let's make EVERY day Earth Day!"
During class time, teachers screened a short Earth Day video to further inform students. The first Earth Day was in 1970 and it was put in place to shine a light on environmental concerns. Today, over 190 counties participate in these important conversations to make our world a better place.
Environmental Sustainability is one of our three school-wide priorities in our 2021-24 Strategic Plan. In September, we are looking forward to reinstating the Green/Environmental Club so students are directly involved in ideas and projects to make our campus more sustainable.
