Form IV Français langue seconde students in Mme Catherine Lanoue's class played the board game 'The Grimm Masquerade' as part of their unit exploring fairy tales.
As of January, students from Mme Lanoue and Mme Mesnil's class have been working on le projet du conte with students in Français langue d’enseignement and langue seconde. The unit includes a project that is held every year that involves the students writing fairy tales to the kindergarten class at l'École Plein Soleil in Sherbrooke. Today, Mme Lanoue decided to let the students take a break from writing to play an exciting board game about fairy tales called 'The Grimm Masquerade.'
In the game, each student impersonates a character according to their card drawn (Red Riding Hood, The Big Bad Wolf, Rumpelstiltskin, The Beast, Cinderella, The Evil Queen, Hansel, or Sleeping Beauty). The goal is to hide your identity and make sure you are the last one being identified while trying to unmask everybody else. Mme Lanoue loved how the game was a great way to keep the fairy tale theme alive and allowed the students to still practise their French.
