Inscape into a good book
Volume XXXVIII of Inscape is now available online for our community's reading pleasure.
A small but dedicated committee of students started working on the magazine in the fall of 2019, and though Inscape usually makes its first appearance in early summer, last year’s school closures during the pandemic slowed down—but did not halt—production. Co-editors for the second year in a row, Violetta Zeitlinger Fontana, BCS’20, and Cala Tesolin, BCS’20, continued to work diligently on the magazine from their homes, supported by English Department Head and faculty advisor, Mr. Scott Kelso. The three met online, sharing ideas, files, and working drafts with each other through to the magazine’s completion at the end of 2020. For a third consecutive year, the magazine’s cover art was created by Izzy Macfarlane, BCS’20. "Izzy’s imaginative collection of characters illustrates a rainbow of personalities, emotions, and points of view," Mr. Kelso explained. "It is reflective of our students’ wide-ranging thoughts, feelings, and perspectives on life captured throughout the magazine."
Our thanks to Vio and Cala for their dedication to this project and a huge congratulations to all the students whose creative offerings were selected for publication. Click below to read and view the many poems and works of art from students, including a poem from our Photo of the Day model and first-time contributor, Zack, titled "A Pet Name." Happy reading!
