Into the woods
Over the past few weeks, our Form III Geography students have been learning about the value of forests as a resource and ecosystem through their module on forestry. As part of the unit, they have been sharing and learning about trees that are indigenous to their home countries.
This morning, Mr. White's student-teacher, Ms. Armstrong led a lesson on 'exploring the forests around us' that took our Form IIIs on a field trip to one of our many surrounding forest trails to learn more about the tree species that are native to our area. "Students assessed trees at Atto Beaver for their general health, economic, and ecological value," Ms. Armstrong explained. "They were also super excited to see a family of chipmunks!"
Head to Flickr (link in the most recent Broadcast or on the Resource Board) for photos from the excursion!
