It's on the house

Mr. White's Form II Geography class is currently learning about geography that focuses on the effect that natural disasters have on cities.

Last week, Ms. Armstrong, Mr. White's student assistant, led a hands-on activity to show the impact that natural disasters have on homes. Students were split into groups of three and built model homes out of clay, popsicle sticks, tape, and string. The goal? To make a home strong enough to withstand natural disasters such as tornadoes (aka a large fan) or earthquakes (aka students shaking the desk).

At the end of the activity, all the clay houses had passed the test and still stood upright after the ‘forces of nature’ took place. We see a successful career option in house building for our Form II students!
