Keeping us posted

We held our first Annual BCS Student Research Symposium today.

Over the past several months, six young scholars in Form VII have been hard at work doing research on a topic of their choice, related to either the study of Anthropology or World History. This research was conducted as part of their Internal Assessments for their IB classes and was presented in the form of academic posters. Throughout period three, our BCS community was encouraged to stop by, listen, and discuss the topics with our presenters.

The following areas of research were presented:

-Homesickness: Craving Food at Boarding School presented by Johanna S.
-Migrant Cultures: Belonging Through Food in Hong Kong presented by Yu Ching "Chelsi" L.
-Thriving Through the COVID-19 Pandemic presented by Alexia S.
-The Evolution of Toronto’s Transportation Infrastructure presented by Kaitlyn B.
-Chernobyl and the Soviet Union presented by Mikhail P.
-The Failure of the East African Community in 1977 presented by Saroni M.

A huge round of applause to Mr. McCormick's and Ms. Rommens' Anthropology and History classes for completing their projects and displaying them at today's symposium. We are looking forward to seeing this type of forum grow in the future!
