Learn and unlearn

During Black History Month, our community came together to educate ourselves about its importance.

The Peter G. Holt Memorial Library Instagram page, run by our Librarian, Mr. Crowther, recently displayed an awareness campaign to showcase books representing, celebrating, and exploring Black lives in North America. Throughout the month, Mme Simard played songs from our community's favourite Black artists as chapel go-ers entered chapel. Yesterday morning, Lynn, Shelby, and Saroni presented on the importance of Black history and culture, highlighting famous Black leaders and movements. Saroni concluded the presentation with a reminder to continue holding these conversations—not only in February, but throughout the year.

Thank you to everyone who participated in educating our community about Black history.
