This morning in chapel, students entered to the sounds of Mongolian death metal group The Hu with songs such as “Yuve Yuve Yu” and ”Wolf Totem.”

Form VII students Sara Sofia P. G. and Chaimber C. briefly introduced metal as a genre and shared interesting facts and debunked stereotypes such as the idea that metal listeners (also known as ‘metal heads’) are known as aggressive or violent. In fact, according to research, metal heads are actually some of the most peaceful people with the best mental health, thanks to:

1. strong community spirit
2. stress relief
3. empowerment

Mongolian death metal is a unique spin on classic death metal. It's a fusion of tradition and innovation, blending throat singing and traditional instruments with modern metal vibes. From the horsehead fiddle to the three-stringed lute, it's a celebration of their heritage and national pride.
