With Pride Month right around the corner, Marie-Noëlle and Bea presented on LGBTQ+ history, terms, ally-ship, and resources this morning in chapel. 

Pride Month is celebrated every year in June to honour the Stonewall Uprising in 1969. The riots against the discrimination against gay community were heard worldwide which subsequently became a historic movement for the LGBTQ+ community and a celebration of inclusion and queer identity.

This morning Marie-Noëlle and Bea presented on the history, broke down a glossary of words that can be used to label gender and sexual identities, and spoke on different ways of being an ally. "Educate yourself, listen, validate, and respect others." Marie-Noëlle and Bea also reminded students that they can always come to talk to them about anything and that "[THEY] ARE VALID."
