One frame at a time

Mr. Brandon's Form II Visual Arts class is combining their love of cinematography and fine arts this week through stop motion animations.

The class first started their projects by making clay characters and creating a storyline for their short film. Next, using their phones, they captured the clay subjects, moving the pieces slightly between each frame. Once all the photos were taken, they were sequenced to reveal the completed short film.

Eytan used his clay to make a human-like figure as his subject and a house made of popsicles sticks as his background. To keep the camera steady, he created a makeshift phone stand with leftover clay—very creative!

The art of creating stop motion animation can be very tedious but the end result is always rewarding.
