Piefect day
AJ, Liam, and Tommaso have launched a fundraising event to support the Canadian Cancer Society with the goal of raising $10,000 in the fight against cancer.
They successfully kicked things off with a $2 dress down day yesterday and continued the fun today with a ‘pie the prefects’ event. Students had the chance to throw a pie at a prefect for just $2 (make sure to check out the excitement in today's Moment of the Day.) The second round of pie-throwing is scheduled for May 2, this time with staff as targets! In order to incentivize donations and reach their goal, they have set up milestones: $1,000 will provide freezie treats while 2,500 will mean a free dress down day for the community. If the fundraising milestone of $5,000 is reached, AJ and Tommaso have pledged to shave their heads during lunch on May 15.
“Everyone's lives have been affected by cancer in one way or another,” shared the organizers. “It is an illness that creates many obstacles in people's lives and that is never easy to live with. This is why we have decided to do our part in aiding people deal with this illness.”
If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause, AJ, Liam, and Tommaso have set up a GoFundMe page, where all proceeds will go directly to the Canadian Cancer Society.
