Rise up
This morning in chapel, the community commemorated Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a powerful presentation.
Our prefects shared the story of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and reminded us of his honourable life and achievements that impacted history. As racism is still prevalent in society today, we must do our part to be human rights champions and speak out against racism—diversity is a strength, not a threat. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
We are committed to continuing these types of global conversations and ongoing learning about diversity, equity, and anti-racist actions in our community all year round.
