Standing up
Today marks the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, an important day to reflect on the legacy of Dr. King and his dedication to social justice, equality, and civil rights.
During chapel, our prefects, Elsa, Priscilla, and Simon, spoke about Dr. King’s life and showed a snippet of his ‘I have a dream’ speech. Dr. King's message of peace, love, and understanding continues to be relevant today and serve as a reminder of the importance of standing up for what's right.
To end the presentation, we all sang "We Shall Overcome." This powerful song has been a source of strength and hope for so many people throughout history, and a reminder of how much has been achieved in terms of civil rights and how much work there is still left to do.
