This past weekend was the Stoker Arts Festival!

Since 1991, BCS has held the Stoker Arts Festival each spring to promote the arts and local artists from the Eastern Townships to our school community. Students get the opportunity to attend an art workshop in the morning and enjoy an afternoon of live performances by musicians from the area. The festival is proudly sponsored by the Stoker family, of Bram Stoker fame, in honour of Shirley H. Stoker, KHC'46.

This year’s festival included the following workshops and leaders:

  • Cooking with Mr. Andrew St-Amant and Mrs. Susan Cook
  • Heat Shrinking Handcrafts with Ms. Yongzhen (Anna) Sui (local artist)
  • Jewelry Making with Ms. Marguerite Levesque
  • Cultivating Inner Strength with Mr. Draco Szathmary
  • Introduction to Drumming with Mr. James Benson
  • Introduction to Embroidery with Lillianne Boucher-Pfliger (local artist)
  • Improvisation with Ms. Alarey Alsip (actress)
  • Gaming Terrain Creation & Mini-Painting with Mr. Christopher Brandon
  • Salsa Dancing with Mr. Graham McNamee & Ms. Madeleine Levesque (dancers)
  • Dungeons & Dragons Player & DM Course with Jackson C., Form VII
  • Board Game Strategy with Jean-Sébastien D., Form VII and Taile L., Form VII
  • Small stuffed animals with Ms. Barbara Rowell & Ms. Nancy Baldwin (local artist)
  • Caricature & Scenery Drawing with Mr. Trevor McKinven (artist)

A sincere thank you to Mrs. Labelle for putting together such a fantastic event, and to all the amazing artists who contributed their time and talent to make it a success! Head to our Instagram and Flickr to see photos from the event.
