Taking a stand

In honour of Women's History Month, Sara Sofia, Elsa, Emma A., Flora, and Olivia G. presented on the history of King's Hall, Compton (KHC) and Bishop's College School (BCS) women in chapel this morning.

Sara Sofia was inspired to write a speech about the history of our women through a class project. With the help of the Advancement Department, she was able to meet a number of influential women including Nancy Layton (past BCS Head of School), Margot Heyerhoff, KHC'69, Sally McLachlan, KHC & BCS'73, and Linda Rodeck, BCS'81 (Chair of the BCS Association Board), who encouraged her to dig deeper into the roots of our rich history. Along with a few of her friends, Sara Sofia was able to present her speech in chapel this week to our community.

In 2022 we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of KHC and BCS coming together. In our ongoing efforts to educate and share our history with our full community, we are excited about the upcoming projects that will highlight the impact and importance of KHC in our story. To learn more about our KHC alumnae, read the last edition of Keep Troth, our KHC newsletter.

Thank you again to Sara Sofia, Elsa, Emma A., Flora, and Olivia G. for helping shine a light on the important women in our history.
