There's a new face in town

We are pleased to welcome our new Director of Student Life, Mr. Christopher Merritt to BCS.

Chris is a self-described lifelong learner whose passion for education, collaboration, and the student experience shines through upon first impression. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education from Bishop’s University, and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from McGill University. In 2019, he received his CAIS Leadership Diploma. He chaired the CAIS Athletics Director’s Executive and has comprehensive experience in strategic planning and CAIS accreditation.

Prior to BCS, Chris was at West Island College (WIC) in Montreal for 14 years. As a member of the faculty, he taught English and Social Sciences across Grades 7 – 11; as Athletics Coordinator, he oversaw and led the entire Athletics Program, responsible for staff, participants, logistics and program growth. He is a founding team member of WIC’s ‘Innovation Hub’—a group of teachers tasked with researching, implementing, and training fellow staff in a variety of innovative pedagogical practices. He also has extensive experience organizing and supervising outdoor education and international trips.

“As a long-time basketball coach and regular participant in the BCS Basketball Tournament, I have been fortunate enough to visit Moulton Hill many times over the years," Chris shares. "What always struck me was the number of families I’d see on campus on weekends. This strong sense of community truly left a lasting impression on me. I’ve always felt that BCS seemed more than just a school; it feels like a place where families connect, and lasting bonds are formed. It has long been our family dream to live and work in the Eastern Townships."
