Unlearning to learn

Over the past few weeks, students, faculty, and staff have attended identity workshops on our school theme of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Our juniors were in chapel this afternoon for the last workshop that involved filling out a survey with their personal devices. Throughout the presentation, students were also able to send in questions virtually to Thyannda for the Q&A period at the end.

Throughout the past few weeks, our community has had the opportunity to unlearn and learn anew through exercises and reflections about ourselves and our surroundings. As both Thyannda and our Head of School, Mr. Lafrance, say, this is an ongoing journey—both individual and collective—and we will continue our work towards becoming a more inclusive and equitable community as we keep growing and moving forward. With guidance from Thyannda, DEI committees have been formed with both students and employees who will help to continue leading this growth.

A huge thank you to Thyannda for sharing your expertise and guiding our community on this path.
