Urban expedition
Mrs. Barton’s Form V IB Geography class participated in a day of geography fieldwork, during which they collected primary data for their Internal Assessment (IA).
The primary objective of their study revolved around urbanization, a topic they have been extensively exploring throughout the year. They walked around Lennoxville to look at the town centre's location, the varying building types and heights, as well as the distribution of different business establishments. Students conducted pedestrian and traffic counts, and collected wind speed, noise, and temperature data. Moreover, they actively engaged with the public to conduct questionnaires.
The excursion proved to be productive and successful, and now Mrs. Barton’s class will collate all the data they collected to start their IA.
