On December 6, 1989, Canadians reacted with horror as our nation witnessed one of the biggest mass shootings our country had ever seen.

Today marks the 32nd anniversary of the tragic mass shooting at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal, where 14 young women were murdered in an act of anti-feminism and gender discrimination. This morning during chapel, prefects Kaitlyn, Alexis, and Yasmin spoke about the events that happened the day of the massacre. The short presentation and video left chapel-goers speechless and reflective about what we as a school can do to end gender-based violence.

We encourage our students to speak out against gender-based violence and bullying, reporting any such behaviour to an adult they trust, and to reach out to our School Counsellor, Ms. Marie-Noëlle, whenever they wish.
