Windows of opportunity
Students in Mrs. Carey's advisor group decorated her classroom windows with messages of positivity this morning for Bell Let's Talk Day.
Every year, Bell supports mental health initiatives by raising funds through their Bell Let's Talk campaign. On this day, millions of people across Canada and around the world send messages of support and encouragement for those struggling with mental health, share their own stories, and offer ideas about how we can improve everyone’s mental well-being. This morning during Advisors, following a conversation about the importance of today's event, Mrs. Carey provided her students with glass markers to decorate her windows with uplifting messages of support and encouragement.
Taking inspiration from the theme for this year's campaign, "When it comes to mental health, now more than ever, every action counts," throughout this week we've been sharing resources and information on practising self-care, asking for help, recognizing signs of stress, and reaching out to loved ones. We've also been encouraging our community to fill 'Talk Bubbles' with what they are doing to practise self-care and spread kindness during this time. Throughout the week, our community on Moulton Hill stopped into the Communications Office to provide their suggestions and our community off campus sent in their bubbles through social. Today, we're encouraging everyone to join the conversation. For every text, call, Bell Let’s Talk Day video view, tweet using #BellLetsTalk, use of the Bell Let’s Talk Facebook frame or Snapchat filter, Bell will donate 5¢ to Canadian mental health initiatives.
Our work to improve mental health on Moulton Hill and beyond is only just beginning. So let's keep the conversation going. Today and every day, let's talk!
