Under the direction of Mr. Obermeir, the students making up the Junior and Senior bands put together a modified Spring Concert for our community to enjoy.

Our Junior Band recorded their rendition of Mark William's "Magnificent Five" and Wiliam Owens' "Chisholm," while our Senior Band performed a medley of hit songs composed by Alan Menken for Disney's Aladdin. Special shout out to Alexander in Form III for performing the trumpet solo. The seniors also delighted our ears with their rendition of Roland Barrett's "Structures" and Anouk in Form VII did a wonderful job as the pitched percussion player.

With the Spring Concert under their belts, Mr. Obermeir is focussing on developing the Junior Band's technique to prepare them for the challenges of the Senior Band repertoire. The seniors are now pouring their efforts into preparing for the Annual Cadet Inspection in May. We love to see band members who are passionate about their work. Band veteran and Form IV student Evan recently auditioned and was chosen to play in the Orchestre Symphonique des Jeunes de Sherbrooke. "He is currently the youngest member of the orchestra, which is usually made up of high school seniors, CEGEP, and university level musicians," explains Mr. Obermeir. "This is a huge accomplishment for him and is a testament to all the hard work and dedication that Evan has put in since Form II."
