This morning's chapel was a truly unforgettable event, as the women and girls of our community boldly asserted their presence and advocated for International Women's Day coming up on March 8.

As chapel began, the males in attendance were surprised to find that there were no females in the room. The pews were sparsely filled and the message was loud and clear. After the usual 'good morning please be seated' announcement by the prefect on duty, Liam made his way up to the front of chapel to address the emptiness of chapel and the importance of the observation. After that, the female members of our community marched in and stood on the sides of the room. With passion and conviction, several of them read aloud a few of the remarkable achievements of women throughout history. They spoke about inspiring figures such as Amelia Earhart, Marie Curie, Ruby Bridges, Malala Yousafzai, and many others who have made significant contributions to various fields. Each tribute to a powerful woman was punctuated by a chorus of female students proclaiming "we ask for equity," amplifying the message of the event.

Finally, Elsa came to the front of chapel to deliver a powerful speech to inspire everyone to dismantle inequality. The most compelling aspect of the event was the unspoken reminder of the crucial role women play in our community. The celebration of women's achievements served as a powerful reminder that we must continue to strive for gender equality and inclusivity.
