BCS is proud to be an authorized IB World School, offering both the full Diploma Programme and course certificates.

BCS is an authorized IB World School. Starting in Form VI/Grade 11, students have the opportunity to partake in the full two-year IB diploma programme or take IB certificates in several courses, often for university credits. Founded in 1968, the IB is a non-profit educational foundation that offers highly-respected international education programs in over 5,000 schools worldwide. At the heart of an IB education is the development of international-mindedness, curiosity and of the whole person. The IB Diploma programme is internationally recognized by the world’s premier universities. By taking the full IB diploma or IB certificates, students at BCS gain a cultural awareness of the world while refining the social, intellectual, and emotional skills that will prepare them to excel and lead meaningful lives.

Students choosing the full Diploma Programme commit to a challenging and unique academic experience which requires successful completion of the following over the course of two years (Forms VI-VII/Grades 11–12):

  • One course in each of the six subject groups (with the possibility to substitute an extra Science, Social Science, or Language course in the place of an Arts course). Three courses must be taken at the Higher Level and three at Standard Level.
  • The three core elements which include:
    • Completion of the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) component.
    • Completion of the Extended Essay (EE).
    • Completion of the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course.
