Thank you for making Doolittle’s Day a success.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of students, parents, alumni, staff, faculty, and friends of BCS, this year’s campaign exceeded both our participation and fundraising goals.
Due to the overwhelming level of participation, it inspired a flurry of activity even after the deadline had passed. We’re ecstatic to share that we almost doubled our goal, and we look forward to building on this success by doing it again next year.
Going forward, Doolittle’s Day will take place annually on the first Wednesday of May.
Give A Little, Doo A Lot.
In May 1836, Lucius Doolittle opened the doors of a school in Lennoxville with a simple belief: education changes lives. Before Canada itself existed, he had a vision for something more than a school: a community rooted in curiosity, connection, and purpose. Nearly 200 years later, that same spirit lives on at Bishop’s College School.
On May 6th, we are bringing that spirit to life in a new way.
If you could see BCS from above today, you wouldn’t see just buildings; you would see a connection. A ribbon of purple moving across campus, weaving through every space, every moment, linking students, ideas, and experiences coming together as one.
In the Student Centre, connection and collaboration bring everyone together. In the library, they prepare for what’s next. On the field, in the theatre, in clubs, and in houses — potential is everywhere.
And your gift helps tie it all together.
Who was Lucius Doolittle?

Lucius Doolittle (1800–1862) was an Anglican priest and educator who played a key role in shaping education in Lennoxville, Quebec. Born in Lyndon, Vermont, he later settled in Hatley, where he served communities across the Eastern Townships.
In 1836, he opened a small school called the Lennoxville Classical School. This school later became Bishop’s College School.
Doolittle believed strongly in the value of education and wanted learning to be accessible to more people.
