A gift to the Highest Priority Fund supports BCS generally and gives the school the greatest flexibility. Your contribution is directed to where it will have the most immediate and strategic benefit. It includes the support of programs and the people who bring the programs to life.

Every day at BCS you can see the benefit of donations received. From upgrades in student residences to the support of student activities, every dollar adds to our capacity to give our students the best experience possible.

Donations may also be earmarked in support of an area of particular interest to you. When making your contribution, simply designate where you want your support to be directed, and the funding you are providing will readily be put to work for immediate and maximum impact.

The BCS Endowment is instrumental to our success and longevity. A strong and healthy endowment provides our school with the backing it needs to continue to provide our students with the best education possible, and this in perpetuity. Every dollar given to the BCS Endowment is invested and will grow. Every dollar given impacts our students and our school today, and it is also a gift that keeps on giving, for years to come.

At BCS, we believe our diverse student body is one of our greatest strengths and contributes to our success in developing global leaders of tomorrow. For this reason, BCS is proud of the support we provide to students of merit who could not otherwise afford a BCS education. Roughly 31% of our students receive scholarship or financial support. To be competitive among the elite private boarding schools in North America and to continue to attract the brightest we must increase our capacity to award scholarship and financial assistance.

A gift to the BCS Endowment is a contribution that is protected. It is permanent, donor-restricted capital that thanks to wise investment provides a steady stream of income and capital gains funds in support of the school’s mission and initiatives.

The BCS Endowment is overseen by the Investment Committee of the BCS Foundation. The BCS Endowment currently funds 46 named scholarships, two academic chairs, and provides over a million dollars annually to BCS.

Every major step forward at BCS has been, and continues to be, funded by parents, alumni, and friends who make significant commitments to the school. Major gifts and capital campaigns fund large projects, including construction and renovation of buildings, purchases of equipment and capital assets, new endowments for scholarships and financial assistance, and other special projects. Whether wishing to provide student financial aid, faculty support, investing in state-of-the-art facilities on campus or contributing more generally to the longevity and stability of Bishop’s College School, charitable giving is critical to the success of our mission.  As you develop your estate plans, you can designate BCS as a beneficiary and as such have a tremendous impact on the school while meeting your estate planning goals.

Bequests: Making a gift to BCS in your will is the most common type of planned gift. You can give a specific sum or property or a percentage of your estate.

Life Insurance: A gift of life insurance is a simple and thoughtful way to make a gift to BCS. Insurance allows you to make a modest gift now for a significant gift in the future and premiums are tax-deductible.
