Shades of blue

Jan. 17, 2017 | Mr. Brandon's Form VII art class was swimming in watercolour painting principles this afternoon.
While mastering different art techniques and their fundamentals can be challenging, the room for creativity is always without boundaries. These students were full of ideas today, when tasked with creating a painting using only watercolours that was inspired by advertisements they often see. This technique, which uses pigments suspended in water-based solution, gives an inner brilliance and clarity of colour that is often lacking in other types of paint. Student Jacey G.'s depiction was influenced by crowded cities and she then played around with shades of blue to define her vision.
